Office Comfort Guide: Essential Accessories for Working with Kidney Disease

As we return to the office, the first thing that came to mind was comfort. Not only was remote work convenient but it was comfortable for me first and foremost. As I navigate end stage renal disease, I’m always cold. As a lover of cold drinks, and the girl with three drinks around her plate I wondered if God was punishing me. A bit dramatic but seriously, controlling the heat and having access to blankets and hot showers was comfort to cater to my illness.

Body regulation at home is much easier then trying to battle the cold of an office. However, my cries fall upon death ears and I must go in. So I started the search for items that might make the office stay a little more cozy while looking professional.

Since space heaters are a no go, the Snuggleback Chair Cover converts into a blanket for your arms and legs lined in soft thick fleece. A Mini-fridge to keep up to 6 cans of soda/sparkling waters, or avoid the communal fridge during these germ filled times. While we at it lets avoid the smelly microwaves and bring our own heated lunch box. You can plug this in your car as well. A weight lap blanket for those of us who need a little more pressure throughout the day. I don’t have a office mug yet so this cute Garfield one stuck out to me and reminds me of the of McDonalds Garfield mugs. Lastly since space heaters are a no go, cozy up in a cold office with a heater throw blanket to take some of the the chill off.
