I don’t know about you but I have a LOVE/HATE Relationship with Uggs. While I keep them simple in Color (Chestnut). I loathe the crazy combinations I’ve seen uggs come in. I actually loathe the shoe. Just because everybody has a pair, and it’s hard to drive with them. I sit there and wonder….where is she going with Sequin Uggs?? Of course I defend my UGGly boots by yelling that they are cozy…that is until I get caught in a rain storm like I did two years again…hence me having two pair.
I came across the video about ….. tick tick 2 minutes and 34 seconds ago. I didn’t expect this video to have me laughing so hard that a co-worker walked around 6 cubes to ask me is everything okay while breathing on my next while she has a cold. For one…well nevermind. LOL I’m so against people invading my faux office space that I worked hard to get. Anyway I thought since I can’t post what I really want ( Still waiting on Press Photos) that I’d provide you all with the Monday Blues a little laugh. It’s almost lunch time…which means it’s almost time to go!!!
Boooyah!! I think it’s safe to say while I’m blessed to have a job sometimes my reaction to leaving is just like this!! Minus the bookbag and stealing a bucket of chicken. Either way I pretty much haul ass with a slight Jog to my car, or choosen method of transportation!
Runnnn Gabbbby Runnnnnnnnnn

As some of you know more and more women are being affected by Breast Cancer, and October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My Aunt, only the love my life was diagnosed last year with Breast Cancer. Stage one, we caught it early, and for almost a year she lived with us while she went through her Chemo Treatments. Sometimes I wonder if putting too much of my personal life on this blog will backfire, but I think this is a serious issue. Needless to say my Aunt is cancer free, and we hope that it never comes back. Last year I heard about Pink Jams the day after it held an event. I put a mental note in my mind that I would try and catch the event the following year. Fast forward to last Tuesday! Somehow I saw a tweet regarding the event and immediately said! I have to get my TICKET! So I did, and it felt good to give to the cause! Pink Jams is an organization that shines the light on women under forty who are plagued with Breast Cancer, uncommon, but very possible. This years show featured 15 women under forty who worked with local designers to create a dress reflective of their style. The showed would be followed by a showing of Christian Siriano ‘s Spring collection fresh off the runway of NYFW. The donations made from this fundraiser went to the Capital Breast Care Center. I was so happy to be a part of this!

I must admit I’m horrible at taking care of my SLR. When I first got it, I was so cheap that I didn’t buy a bag for it, and who wants those Hideous things from Best Buy that’s basically an Equivalent to a fanny pack as a purse? A set of Boxey Nylon goodness!
Certainly not me! *eye roll*.
So for almost a year I have been either carrying my camera around my neck, in my hand, leaving its various pieces all over my house which resulted to me scratching my starter lens. As my collection grows I am now in search of a camera bag that is stylish. So it was only right to share it with other bloggers. We are the paps of fashion, why the hell would we want “fanny pack” bags?
I started going my research, then I forgot about it ( not a big surprise). It wasn’t until I was at the CapFabb Event that I realized I felt like a real like version of Erykah Badu. *Cue the music for Bag Lady* Lugging my huge purse, gift bag and camera wasn’t cutting it for me. I was also reminded of my bag search when I stopped passed Gypsy Diaries. Which by the way is cool blog! She travels her fashionable little ass off! And she is moving again to Barcelona! How cool!
Anyway she featured a cool bag, that I could see myself rocking.

Looks like a normal purse doesn’t it? Wait there is more!
This bag is by Theit. It can hold the camera body, 2-4 lenses (dependant on size), flash, battery, phone and other miscellaneous accessories. It’s compartments are also removable, so you can use it as a normal handbag!
It’s a bit pricey ringing up to 159.00. But of course I couldn’t do a post with just one bag! We ladies need options! Especially when it comes to prices!
Next up…

I guess after taking pictures all day you might just crave an apple…I guess.

Excuse my crappy attempt at a collage. This brand Jo Totes makes a simpler version of camera bags. These babies range from $87 to $109. Which isn’t bad! When I first started my search I came across this company. While all of these bags aren’t my style they seem to have different compartment styling even a laptop section, which makes perfect sense if you want to stop at Starbucks and do some photo editing? …No? only me? okay.

Now for you all that LOVE Canvas and who doesn’t -__-.
This is a cute take on what I’ve always called a carry-on tote. I could see myself wearing this without worrying about my camera. This stylish satchel from Dre Hartmann cost a pricey $200. In defense of that price it does look pretty damn versatile regarding the various uses you can get from it. It also comes in different colors as well. I think I’m in love with the sharp lines.
A description from site reads.
This bag can hold your digital SLR camera, 2 lenses, a flash, and other photo accessories. We have even fit a Canon 70-200mm lens in this one very comfortably on a recent trip! Like the other Dre Hartmann bags, the Monaco is fully lined to protect your camera gear, has detachable inner dividers, and zips fully closed at the top to keep your gear from spilling out.

This Hobo from the same company also stood out to me. I’ve always and will forever be a Safari kinda girl, and this reminded me of that trend. I like Hobo’s too because you can throw it under your shoulder and move right along.

” But Elle, what about us who have point and shoots?”
No Worries I haven’t forgotten about you all either!
Introducingggggggggggggggggggg

Now your certainly in luck if you’re name begins with an E O_O. Or you could say it means your Excited, Elated, Evil…look no one is here to judge you. Either way this cute clutch features additional pockets for point & shoot cameras or smartphones. Of course this works with more of a formal outfit, or maybe you are so badass that you can pull of with jeans, and a t-shirt, whatever you decide I think this is super fun, and of course it serves it’s purpose of holding your camera when you aren’t using it.
Oh and Guess what Jill- E is selling it for a whopping $29.
Who says I can’t find a bargain!

Now I’m sure some of thinking, WTF is this? Hear me out. Some of the people here are SIMPLE, and I know because they are my friends in real life. They are simple, and cheap, which is NOT a bad thing at all. Some of them I know for a fact do nothing but throw their Point and shoot in their purses and risk, spills, scratches, and crushes pieces because of it. I use to be that person, and still am. Currently my point and shoot is unprotected and sitting among a pile of junk in my glove compartment. I thought this would be for the simple blogger, who just wants to toss their camera in a purse they have already, or maybe even their iPod. This little baby has a few uses as well. I found it in an Etsy Shop for $13.00. Pricey I know right…

Lastly Say you have a great bag already, it’s perfect but you’re afraid if you use it, everything will still be unorganized?
Well a few Etsy shop owners can make you a bag insert. The cushions are organized so you can pop it right in, and out of your bag. It will hold all of your camera parts in an organized manner. The only one that I really loved came in a crazy bright red, and for picture purposes this is what I will post. But if you want something different, and I can’t imagine why you would you can find a ton of colors, and styles on Etsy. Season Totes has a variety, and there are a couple of shops here, here and here that you can check out as well.

If you’re still reading, thanks for stopping by and don’t forget there is PLENTY of time to enter my giveaway.

Contest Ends November 1, 2011. Just in time for Versace for H&M.
This months Blogger Meetup was awesome! Of course through the sea of “Do you blog?” I met up with some friends from the last meetup and new girls and a couple of guys.
CAPFABB does an awesome job of finding great venues! I was so excited to visit a spa since I’d been looking around for one but too lazy to go partly because I don’t want to go alone. I don’t know sometimes I feel that way. Some things are better with friends! I need a few more of those though!
I can’t remember everyone’s name. I pretty much zoned out because my feet were damn near numb from my platforms that I had on all day! ( the things we do to look good). I’m pretty sure I looked bleh! Even after my Eyebrow Adventure! My point is if you see your picture ,give me a holla in the comments section so I can visit your blog and add you to my DC blog Roll. If you see yourself in a photo please remember to credit me for it! CAUSE I’lllll Finnnd youuuu! pwhahaha.
I got there early, and this was the first person I saw. She wasn’t a blogger but I think she was there with a friend. I know her name started with an M. She looked great in a pair of Leather shorts, a fur vest, and Moschino Belt!! she didn’t stay long but definitely made a great impression.
Yes that’s my girl Dana NEVER Afraid to be herself!
I had a ball at this meetup and I can’t wait to see what happens next time.
I’m excited to see what venue we will be at next time.

How do you know your eyebrows are bad? Is it when they form a bushy bridge to help people safely cross? Maybe when they are so bushy it’s Makes Don Imus look like Brad Pitt. I’ll tell when I know. When you walk up to a celebrity make up artist to compliment him on his work and he zeros in on your brows…grabs your arm and says “Follow me” hun. Well that’s what happened to me today. Granted it had been almost 4 to 5 months since I proper grooming! I really was in need of some eyebrow TLC.
Adrian Avila better known as the Make Up Martyr has worked with the likes of Keyshia Cole, Stevie Wonder, Gabrielle Union and my IDOL Rosario Dawson. He currently works are Nectar Skin Bar as a licensed Esthetician. I find it really hard to walk into a typical hair salon in the DC area and pay 7 to 9 bucks for an eyebrow wax. Of course you’re saying, well 7 bucks is cheap! Cheap doesn’t always mean you will walk out with the most gorgeous eyebrows! Well i’ll be the first to say that I have had my “eyebrow” nightmares messing with Ming. ( Not a joke) her name was Ming. Adrian didn’t even have to ask me what I wanted, and who was I to make a demand anyway. I could feel him strategically placing small amounts of wax over my brows. And Voila, Snatch, Snatch, Pull! I sat up and Viola!
Yes I look confused, like I need to gather myself but this was the only picture that didn’t come out blurry. Excuse my crappy pictures!!
So I’m kinda of convinced that this looks like a mugshot. Sorry!
Anyway, it’s blurry but I think they look amazing! It’s so hard to have someone know what they are doing! My eyebrows still have shape, he cleaned them up really well.
Adrian is a Gem, and I’d suggest stopping by to treat yourself to some pampering every once and awhile!
I would have to give Nectar a 5 our 5! For one, they carry a ton of products that aren’t sold in a ton department stores. They care about quality and not quantity! I know I’ll be back for some of the products I saw this afternoon.
